I am Lily Borak
Lily Borak is a professional portrait photographer currently living in Denver, Colorado. She has been working in photography since 2012 and specializes in authentic, connection-focused imagery that captures individuals and families with honesty, warmth, and intention.
Art has always played a large part in Lily’s life. Throughout her childhood, her parents encouraged her to draw, write, dance, sing, and play instruments. She participated in choir and theater during high school, but fell in love with photography upon entering university. Photography interested Lily because its very essence is to reveal truth — preserving fleeting moments, emotion, personality, and human connection through light and composition. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photo Media from the University of Kansas.
After her first travels abroad took her to the tropical country of Honduras and the spiritual nation of Japan, Lily became passionate about documenting the landscapes and people living within those cultures. Those experiences deepened her appreciation for storytelling and the quiet beauty found in everyday life. Today, that same perspective influences her portrait work, where she seeks to create images that feel genuine, thoughtful, and emotionally resonant.

What inspires Lily most are the quiet moments that no one else is watching — the soft glance between loved ones, genuine laughter shared during a session, or the warmth of golden light across a familiar landscape. She believes the most meaningful photographs come from real connection and creating an environment where people feel comfortable simply being themselves. Photography has encouraged her to slow down and see beneath the surface, finding beauty and meaning in both the extraordinary and the ordinary.
Through her work, Lily strives to create timeless imagery that not only reflects how a moment looked, but how it truly felt — preserving memories and connections that can be revisited for years to come.
