I am Lily Borak
I'm the person behind the camera — and, more recently, the person who finally got brave enough to stand in front of it too. (Turns out asking clients to relax and be themselves is a lot easier than doing it myself! Who knew?)
I'm a portrait, personal branding, and real estate photographer based in Arvada, working across Denver, Boulder, and the whole Front Range. I've been doing this since 2012, with a Bachelor of Arts in Photo Media from the University of Kansas behind me and a decade-plus of client sessions since — but honestly, the degree is the least interesting part. What I actually care about is what happens in the hour or two we spend together: the moment someone stops posing and is comfortable as themself, the parents who steal a quiet look at each other mid-family-session, the small-business owner who finally has a portrait of themselves they don't wince at.
My style is vibrant and intimate — warm color, natural light, a little bit of Colorado magic wherever we shoot.

"Love participates of the soul itself. It is of the same nature. Like it, it is the divine spark; like it, it is incorruptible, indivisible, imperishable. It is a point of fire that exists within us, which is immortal and infinite, which nothing can confine, and which nothing can extinguish. We feel it burning even to the very marrow of our bones, and we see it beaming in the very depths of heaven…"

My philosophy
I believe in thoughtful, considered, and personal collaborations

What inspires me most are the quiet moments that no one else is watching — the soft glance between loved ones, genuine laughter shared during a session, or the warmth of golden light across a familiar landscape. I believe the most meaningful photographs come from real connection and creating an environment where people feel comfortable simply being themselves. Photography has encouraged me to slow down and see beneath the surface, finding beauty and meaning in both the extraordinary and the ordinary.
Through my work, I strive to create timeless imagery that not only reflects how a moment looked, but how it truly felt — preserving memories and connections that can be revisited for years to come.
