Featured Inspirations - Andrea Li

My friend Andrea Li is a gutsy, bold, fashionista diva who has started her own jewelry brand. And if her jewelry mirrored her personality any more than it already does, my wallet would die a glorious death down in fashion hall of fame. I’m not talking about a mom and pop Etsy shop here. I’m talking high-quality jewelry that is one-of-a-kind! She only makes one of each piece for her seasonal collections so once it’s sold, it’s gone forever into the hands of a lucky lady.

Andrea’s jewelry is special because of it’s unique design. Any time I see a piece of hers, I can spot it a mile away and think to myself ‘that’s Andrea’s’! She features precious gemstones, intricate beading, wire wrapping, and a lot of asymmetry. I like how she adds a sense of delicacy to the design that balances the large and loud statement of work. Her jewelry will make any outfit, casual to black tie, a knockout. I’m happy to own several pieces myself!

Don’t just take my word for it! You can view the collections for yourself here at Andrea’s website.

Aside from making me look like a million bucks, Andrea helps me with my own artistic endeavors  by explaining SEO. She’s drilled ad strategy into my brain, highlighting that it’s all about when and how often you are posting new content on today’s fast-paced social media platforms.

Every day, Andrea posts to social media. She has intensively researched who her target audience is, which social media avenues are best for her ads, what time of day is most efficient to gain views, and the rhetoric behind her product descriptions. Denver’s 5280 magazine has featured her work and she participates in fashion shows around Denver, putting herself out into the world. Like any good advertisement, the more you see it, the more it will be your mind.

Andrea marketing passion has motivated me to dive into my own strategic planning in hopes to gain more audience with my photographs. I am incrementally improving my website, but the SEO is not where I would like to be. Changing the name of my website has impacted traffic to the site, but I will change that in the coming year. And I have Andrea to thank for being a continuous support and cheerleader of my work!

When it comes down to it, Andrea is the SEO marketing queen all by herself. She is working at all hours during the day, night, weekends, etc. learning how to market her work. And that’s the lesson there: When it comes to pursuing your art as a business, it’s pretty much all work and no play. It’s the same with my other friends. They work ALL the time, but they are happy and passionate about what they do. Having a savvy marketing strategy is a big part of Andrea’s success and she has it down to a science.
